cartridges dont have anything to do with that, when we had cartridges the consoles had no internet, once Nintendo makes another console based on cartridges there will still be internal memory, maybe even memory on the cardridge, and there will be DLC and Updates, depending on the quality of the console, textures and size of games, they will just be huge patches too, Obviously its nice to have something complete but patches are not all-bad, look at the witcher 3 and how that game improved from already being voted game of the year.

Yes, you are right. Just nostalgia kicking in I guess, games were also much simpler back them...

But on the Nintendo NX issue, I am really sad about how mundane the new console is, just a mish-mash of stuff. I thought Nintendo was going to surprise everybody with a really really out-of-the-box concept.
