Is this white privelege really true or is it just media hyperbole? I don't know any better but I see a lot of black celebrities from the US in the media.

Anyways the guys in the pics look exactly like the imagery I had for them in my head xD

um...

i definetly believe in the privilege part.  the US is very much capitalism and to be successful you have to buy an expensive college education and to get that you have to have parents with money to pay for the school, probably come from good high school which mean expensive private schools or living in an expensive neighboorhood that actually has a good public school, and with how competitive schools are these days also formulized extra curriculares like sports that aren't cheap either.

basically it is hard to get a high paying job if you parents don't have a high paying job to afford for you the things needed get you there.  there is very little class mobility in america.

as far as the white thing goes,.. well whites profited off of black slaves.  now refer back to my previous statement to which i said there is very little class mobility in america.

i don't think you have to be white in america to be privileged but from ages ago whites make up the top earners and blacks make up the bottom earners and things don't really change generation to generation.

so i believe in privilege and i believe whites makes up a higher precentage of the privileged class then the popluation break down would suggest a fair society should result in.

So its a higher income privelege regardless of race and it just happens to be whites generally being more rich due to their history. That's what I could infer from your post.

That's not much different from India, but college tuition here isn't really high, but neither are the incomes that you get after finding a job. Americans have it much better and you don't even realise it, probably even your lower income groups do pretty well compared to Indians. There is no fair society in the world, but American society is much more fair than Americans themselves realise.

There are several divisions between classes and castes in India while Americans suffer from just a few divisions. Be glad that you have a relatively fair society.
