This NX is still a console, it can play at home. It's just not a traditional console. Which is something Nintendo has said many times, this would not be a conventional console. 

The other fucking huge tip off about all this is didn't you find it slightly odd that there really hasn't been any news/buzz/talk of a Nintendo portable successor to 3DS? That's because NX is the successor to both (also hinted at several times by Nintendo because when they would talk about NX they would talk about both the 3DS and Wii U, which makes no sense to include 3DS in that mix if its just a standard home console). 

Remember that NX controller touchscreen no buttons rumors ? That's basically where we are getting at again ....

That technically wouldn't be untrue if this is what we get. There is basically a touchscreen there, it just has attachable side controls to it. 

Who knows what the shape of the screen is too, could be a custom free form display.
