==> yes, we will focus on game like ME which behind his visual is just an interactive dialogue game that is FAR from being innovative (exept in term of cinetic since u can choose ur text in advance). It is impressive and entertaining but only visually. 1990-2000 RPG were already doing the same using text.
Bascially,
WRPG : interactive story (where everybody will choose the same pathway since there is often only one "good" ending)
MGS : fixed story as a movie
great game : both
