Yes, that could mean super gimmicky but... 2.) It's powerful enough to at least run current gen software. Sonic 2017 and Dragon Quest XI are 2 games that lead me to believe this. So companies can at least port games to it without having to create special development teams. Thus, it wouldn't hurt to at least port your games to the NX...that is if NX isn't more powerful than PS4 or Xbone. 3.) Though it's fairly powerful and retains a gimmick of some sort, it won't be sold at a loss. So what I'm getting at is, the NX might be a new idea, that is powerful, that doesn't get sold at a loss. This is the sweet spot, I think, for Nintendo. Innovation, Power, and Price. So maybe the NX, not taking into account what Ubisoft said, might try to capture casuals and hard core gamers. But that's just how I see NX being marketed. It could go totally south which it might. But it's fun to speculate. |
@2 - i personally think it would be impossible for nintendo to develop a system that isn't at least as powerful as the original xbox one. i mean,.. really old parts start to get more expensive not less. the only problem with that is launching in 2017 MSony will be moving away from that standard in 1 year for scorpio and (imo) in 3 years for the next playstation. that's not a very long shelf life.
