Well I would say you are selling the game short based on that video then. I want to say I saw him do tricks in the video, but if he didn't then they were intentionally not showing off one of the new features. The game is very similar if you stick only to Time Trial mode, with the standard Kart, using only old characters, and do not do any tricks. That is quite the list of qualifiers. One video attempting to highlight the specific differences between two games is not something to bash a game over.
