Can someone explain to me the difference between sex and gender? If I'm not mistaken, sex basically just refers to your physical genitals and genetics (ie. whoch combination of X and Y chromosomes you have), while gender refers to your mind.

If someone is transgender, are they actually transsex, or are they transgender? If it's the latter, and my understanding of gender is correct, then it seems more like people being transgender is (at least partially) due to arbitrary gender roles that have been baked into society; "boys like cars and videogames", "girls like dolls", "blue is a boy colour" etc. When people's sex then don't fit with society's arbitrary gender roles, this leads to things like "oh, she likes video games, she's a boyish girl", which makes people born with whatever sex feel like they don't fit in with the sex they were born in, when in reality, there's nothing to "fit into". Gender roles are completely arbitrary and pointless. Girls can like the same things as boys and vice versa. Gender sounds like an outdated and useless concept.

Transgenderism is a phenomenon that has arisen due to arbitrary, useless and outdated gender roles and stereotypes in society.
