I don't think it could happen because it seems like Nintendo is giving out the movie rights to their IPs to different production/distribution companies. Right now, I think Sony has the rights to a Mario movie and Legendary has the rights to the Pokemon franchise so it'll be hard to get all of them to play nice -- much like the conundrum Disney has with Fox who have the X-Men rights and are essentially holding the Fantastic Four franchise hostage. It is a nice dream though and it would be great if they partnered up with a company like Dreamworks since I think NBCUniversal is looking to purchase them. If all of that worked out, it would just put Nintendo and NBCUniversal in a stronger relationship with each other since they already have the theme park deal going on.
