You haven't watched Pokemon in a while if you're saying he catches Pokemon that are trash. In Kalos alone, he has Talonflame, Noivern, Goodra, Greninja (with a synchro power-up called Ash-Greninja), who almost defeated Diantha's Mega Garvdevoir and could potentially defeat Alain's Mega Charizard X, and Hawlucha to go along with his still powerful Pikachu, who has, up to this point, defeated a Mega Lucario, Latios, and Regice. Ash's Pokemon for BW and DP aren't too shabby either, which include Infernape, Torterra, Staraptor, Gliscor, Pignite, Boldore, and Krookodile.
though if it's your opinion, that's fine I guess. I don't know your opinion on these Pokemon.
