This site is in dire need of 'thread etiquette"

You mean doing things like bothering to proof read posts or not have titles like "You wont believe what just happened...." or "Just Stop it" Sadly there is some rules regarding these things, well there is rules about the Thread titles at least but there is not actually rules in place regarding putting effort into writing posts.

I'm perfectly fine with non-english speaking people making mistakes in posts, but when someone from UK,Ireland or US has a post written as though it was a text message with typo's and garbage throughout it... just turns me right off it, especially when some users tend to get worse at doing it when they've become upset at the thread, so it's a pseudo-intellectual rant (See... I bothered to type that into the Google box to confirm the correct spelling of Pseudo, it doesn't take that long to do people.) which contains things like "I dont know if you are trolling or genualy have no ideia how things work." I mean... that cracks me up in ways, not all of them are good.

Regarding the normal defense of this being "well, it's just a forum and not a novel" I always remember the best response of "if you type Plz instead of please because it's faster to type, then I'll say No instead of Yes for the same reason" I really do think it's a thing of respect for other users to actually bother making the smallest efforts to make your posts easier to read, it's not asking people to write novel quality stuff (knowing my luck there is probably some mistakes in this post because I'm rather tired) but it's just asking for a small amount of effort from the serial offenders would be lovely, rather than the "ma psots aer parfict, persons lveo dem!1"

It goes beyond that. Thread Etiquette is idea of learning how to make/participate in threads without being a pain. Just few ideas:

1) Distinguishing between what is a thread worthy topic vs something that can posted inside another thread because it is just extension of said other thread. We have tons of Pokemon GO threads that conceptually are the same thing, but we have no thread actually discussing the game.

2) Boyfriends - Users who like to have side conversations in a thread where its not relevant. This usually happens between members who are buddies. Take it to your walls.

3) Clone threads - Threads asking the same questions to different groups. We dont need that. Just make ONE thread that houses them.

4) List threads - Just ask you list something. These threads aren't bad, but they dont encourage any good discussion from members or thought from creator. Everybody should move away from these "training wheels" when you get comfortable making threads. Take it a step further. Instead of "whats your favorite Final Fantasy", focus on a Final Fantasy or a couple of Final Fantasies and encourage a debate about about something.

"Why Final Fantasy 4 is superior to Final Fantasy 6" - That something to debate about.
