IIRC the Syrian one was done by the people. You'd asume with this being done by the military they'd have planned it to be quick and decisive.

From my understanding though even though Ergodan is a dick (from my POV anyway), he does have a good amount of support in Turkey and was elected with about 50% of the vote. 

So I dunno ... I mean it would be nice if all those people now just accepted a secular military rule (assuming the military is true to their word, which who the fuck even knows at this stage) ... but I'm thinking this won't be as easy as that.
