Honestly, I'm not even sure I want Nintendo to make another Metroid. A significant part of me would rather they just let the franchise die for good than continue to tarnish it once hallowed name with garbage like Other M and Federation Force. |
So the franchise stumbled ONCE in the mainline entries and now probably once in a spinoff and thus should die? I strongly, strongly, strongly disagree with that idea. If every franchise was killed off after stumbling, most franchises we love today wouldn't be around. And Nintendo certainly doesn't lack the development chops to make an extraordinary Metroid. This isn't a Sega or Atari situation where there's a serious possibility the companies literally lack the ability to make good games.
