Halo:CE and Halo 4 has some frame dips, but still a HUGE improvement over the 360 releases.

Halo Anniversary on 360 was sub-HD and had significant frame dips below 30 fps. On X1, its 1080p, the frame rate usually stays north of 50fps (better than sub 30), and has more visual polish. Halo 4 is the same thing. Much better frame rate, more visual polished, simply a better way to experience Halo 4 even with its dumb issues like the button prompts. Also, the online experinece is pretty significant to what makes Halo:MCC great, can't say that about other remasters.

The Chief was never the bad guy, he was being hunted for going AWOL while trying to find Cortana. It was believed Cortana may have been corrupted so they wanted to stop MC. That comes to a conclusion leading to Halo 6. That's literally Halo 5's story in a nutshell. The marketing was misleading, just ignore that.

I think action focused FPS games are generally not great. Even the previous Halo campaigns have boring missions. I'll just say this, Halo 5 was still one of the most overall satisfying FPS games I've played in years. I say that as a person that plays/tries pretty much all the major shooters. And I hope they raise the bar in Halo 6.

I'm not disagreeing with the point that Halo 5 was a great FPS, but its story was executed poorly. Yes, I don't see a problem with it, but it was just so poorly executed! We see osiris being shoved into the game without knowing anything about them! The characters are boring and have no backgrouund (except for buck). Blue team has a good chance of showing its colours, but I just didn't care for the characters. Why didn't we see more interaction with them?! Such a blown opportunity! And if we're trying to find chief, wouldnt it be better to execute it like ODST, in which we generally piece together what is going on, have flashbacks with the MC on his missions, and come to a conclusion? That would've been a great idea, and many early leaks did inticate it was going to be that way. The campaign was such a missed opportunity, and I hope this is changed in Halo 6.

As for the MCC collection, I'd hope for frame rates better than the 360. Its 8 times more powerful than the Xbox 360, so bumping it to 1080p and locking at 60fps should be easy. Still, it wasn't that great: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7k_RI2HPp3A

If I were to nit pick Halo 5 though, the story isn't my personal gripe. I think the criticisms on the gameplay are more valid, but its still pretty solid.

I don't think action focused shooters are ever really good at story telling, so maybe that's why I'm not complaining. Its just felt par for the course. Its not a Naughty Dog or Telltale game.

Few remasters of 7th gen games are locked at 1080p/60 fps, so its evidently not easy. MCC ain't perfect, but its still the best way to experience these games. Maybe we'll get an even better version for Scorpio specs, then we can experience 4K/60 fps.

In a nutshell, I might be more critical of MS if I felt other studios were doing better. I don't other remasters offering as much as Halo:MCC and most games aren't overall as great as Halo 5. So I kinda just accept them for what they are, even if not everything I hope.
