They need their own hardware and their own store to earn all the profits. But it should be compatible to Android, so every game can be released there for the widest possible mass-audience as well.
In my opinion the success of a micro-transaction game is not good for real players, since paying money to make Mario jump higher now becomes a reality. All the Nintendo IPs are destroyed by mediocre games with DLC and micro-transactions and will not be fun to play. But they will create more money than ever before by milking the casual mass market.
