Their mobiles games will be huge because their franchises are huge, and those franchise are huge because their console games make them huge, without the main games the brands would lose strength, the mobile games will lose appeal and it would be dumb as hell not to take profit of the huge publicity this free apps gives to their main games.

There is no doubt Nintendo will continue making games as usual and mobile games will probably be made by third parties using Nintendo franchises just like Pokemon Go did, most of their studios and developers are not gonna completely change their way of work unless is completely necessary and I may remember you that just because handhelds were 5 times more succesfull than homeconsoles for Nintendo, that never made them go 100% handheld, and that didn't stop every homeconsole for having a big number of first party games even when the console was a big bomb.

Consoles made them huge when comsoles were huge for Nintendo.

In future it will be mobile that keeps them huge because that's where their audience has been largely moving too.

Bullshit, the Wii audience is not "their audience", most of them came that gen alone, their real audience is either buying their products or waiting for something that makes them want to buy them again.

And no, a franchise like Zelda will lose its popularity without the main aaa games, if suddlenly the brand turns into little free to play mobile games with no mainline aaa experience, the franchise would slowly die, is not wise, and they won't do it, just like they didn't went 100% handheld just because they were way more succesful than homeconsoles.
