I know that, but it would still be in everyone's best interest a long time ago to track digital in a better way, it had become a huge market, especially on PC, where it makes the vast majority of sales by now, consoles are catching up and selling more digital copies as well.

But, yes, I know there are differences.

My "guess" is they all have a lot of concern about the competitors being able to use accurate data to data mine and model their sales, specials, dlc etc in order to gain a competitive advantage and even target their audience and they are probably right. Accurate and timely information is incredibly valuable with digital.
