Do you have a source saying Nintendo made a profit on the Gamecube? And I mean, on the actual Gamecube, not just in the Gamecube era where they also had the massively successful GBA.

Specifically for GC, I dont, I know numbers show that Nintendo made much higher profit that gen than Sony with PS2. But Nintendo rearly have looss on hardware, I remmber that actuly Wii U is first Nintendo console on which they had small loss (only on launch, Nintendo said that is mostly because very negative exchange rate for yen at that time). Also why Wii U didnt had price cut yet and basically still have launch price, because they made money with that price and with price cut most liky would make them loss.
