This is what Nintendo needs to do, and should have done a few years ago. Diversify onto other platforms. Not necessarily go full third party and make games for other consoles, but they can and should make their games available for phones, tablets and PCs. They can do hardware, though I think they should stick to tried and true methods of designing hardware and make sure that the costs of the hardware mostly goes towards performance rather than wasting costs on extra features that are not core to console gaming. If they want to add extra stuff make it separate and opt in.
