Yes, Wii Play and Wii Sports have greatly outsold the PS3 in Japan. Honestly, this was supposed to be the Wii's Holy Grail in Japan, and you're all surprised that it outsold the PS3 when 2 games have already?
As for the cries of the hardcore, I don't know how one person can say that hardcore gaming is done is Japan and then another person say that the hardcore are crying. Well, if hardcore gaming is so dead in Japan, then the hardcore wouldn't care. They would have already given up, or at least I hope you all have.
Frankly we're all hardcore just for being nerdy enough to sign up for a site like this
