There is no logic in "I prefer to play Xbox games on PC instead of XBO, how great that I don't get my PS4 games on PC"

It's not neccessarily that you'd prefer playing them on PC, I prefer Console Gaming. I already have a PS4 for third party games and Sony Exclusives. I can't justify purchasing an Xbox though when I have a PC that can play all it's games, even when I'd prefer to play them on a console.

I prefer gaming on a console but I'm willing to put up with playing a few games on PC so I don't have to shell out $300.

Well, this is good news for you then. That is my point, there is no real loss for anyone. (ok those who bought an XBO maybe half a year ago and don't need it anymore may be not so happy)

You prefer to play on consoles but when you get the option to play the games also on PC then the money saving is more important for you as the preference to play on console. This would be also the case with exclusives from other consoles then so that it wouldn't make much sense for you to say "great that Nintendo/Sony don't release their games on PC even though money saving is important for me so that I wouldn't have to buy their hardware for it".

If you would still play it on console then you can still buy the console, if you would play it on PC instead you could save money for hardware you wouldn't need anymore. Doesn't sound too bad to me.
