Sam's Club has about the same revenue as Tesco, slightly lower revenue than Target. About half the revenue of Amazon, but then again, Amazon are walking down that membership path with Prime, they've already locked certain games behind an Amazon Prime wall. And Amazon isn't just a retailer, they have other stuff providing revenue as well.

It still allows for others that haven't locked down and gone the exact same route to stay ahead though, the overall notion is that 7 billion don't entirely buy into paying up first to access a store.

You asked how this compared to other retailers. I gave you the numbers. Costco (another warehouse retailer where you have to have a membership to shop) is the second largest retailer in the world only behind Walmart btw.
