By denouncing that buying a Xbox One is pointless if Microsoft's exclusives are shared with PC. This stance implies that the only reason to own consoles over PCs is because of exclusives, otherwise this whole backlash against Xbox Play Anywhere would be nonexistent. This stance also ignore price point and consumer friendliness so, It seems, exclusives is what it comes down to, and thats truth for fans of all consoles since Microsoft fans aren't alone when critzicing this move.

How does this proves "console fans" just accepted that PC is the best gaming platform? Well, if you take out exclusives, as Microsoft just did with the Xbox One, then, according to those against this move, there is no point in owning a console such as the Xbox One. In other words, all things being equal it would be pointless to buy a console. Simple.

This doesn't apply to all console gamers, but only to those who are against the prospect of console exclusives being available on PC. Because if there was any real advantage to consoles besides exclusives then... Why be so reprehensive of these exclusives finding their way to PC?

I think the real stance is "No point in owning an XB1 and a PS4/PC". I'm sure there are still reasons to own an Xbox One in addition to a PS4 or PC, but the advantages as far as game coverage are minimal.

My thought process, personally, is a PS4 has many more games than Xbox One (plus a number of exclusives), and what games I can't get on PS4 I can get on PC (along with an entirely different set of preferred genre on PC for exclusives, like RTS and MOBA). Yes, the whole Xbox One games on PC isn't 100% yet, and I'm the first one to argue that PC from the couch doesn't feel right... But if we're talking about raw game coverage, the purpose of the Xbox One is greatly diminished (to me).

If someone gave me an Xbox One, would I keep it? Yeah. Would I play it? Maybe sometimes. But if I'm talking about spending money on something, I would prefer to build another PC, get a gaming laptop, or maybe even grab the L2/R2 grip for my Vita so remote play feels better. At this point in time, I feel validated in my ownership of my PS4, PC, Wii U, and 3DS due to the variety of games I can get on them. Not so much in my Vita, despite spending most of my time playing PS1 and PS4 ports on it. And I feel buying an Xbox One at this point in time would be an absolute waste of my money. I'm better off just buying a wireless Windows controller for my PC.
