Sony already said they were on board with cross-play with xbox and has been allowing crossplay between pc and PS3/PS4. MS tried to act like it was their idea not that long with that publicity stunt of theirs.

I'm completely fine with 3rd party console exclusives being on playstation consoles and pc. Sony will never bring their first party exclusives to PC because sony doesn't have an OS they're trying to sell. Sony wouldn't benefit from a move like that.

Yeah, I'm gonna need a quote and link for your claim that Sony is open to cross-play with other consoles. As far as I am aware, they only ever stated that they were open to cross play with PC, not consoles. They've never said anything about Xbox or Nintendo systems the way Microsoft has, so Microsoft isn't just trying to "pretend like it was their idea." It was absolutely their idea.

For FFXIV ARR to be on the PS3 and PS4, sony had to agree to cross-platform play or cross-play between all platforms. MS wouldn't agree to cross-play and that's why they never got the game on their consoles.

I haven't seen anything that suggests that sony was ever against cross-play and only examples that suggest that sony has always been for it. On the other hand, ms has always been as fickle as 14 year old girl about it.
