This would be the best route for them to take. It's a great strategy.

Of course it is. It's the PC games strategy with minimal system requirements, recommended system requirements and systems where you can push all sliders to the max. ;)

Only difference is that the developers can make these recommendations and presets for each game individually and aren't obligated to special terms of the platform owner.
