It needs its reformation/enlightenment period, not unlike Christianity went through, long ago. And it needs to start accepting Liberal principles (capital L, not "liberal", like today's politics). Principles such as women's rights, freedom of religion, no death penalties for thought crimes, etc. and accept that there are other people in this world that don't follow Islam, so stop trying to spread Islam to......everywhere. Example.

As much as people like to point out "moderate Muslims" who are "peaceful", or say things like "there are 1.6 billion Muslims. If Islam was really about violence, we'd all be dead", they conveniently leave out some very chilling statistics:

Link to data, for the lazy: http://www.pewforum.org/files/2013/04/worlds-muslims-religion-politics-society-full-report.pdf

I'm not sure I'd describe people who read the 226 page report lazy.  Not compared to those that cherry pick items from it for a chart.  I had a completely different impression after scanning the report.

"Link for the lazy" was just me actually typing out the URL, so you wouldn't have to =/. To verify that the data was accurate, instead of possibly thinking it was "made up" and just placed onto a picture.

Also, how are these "cherry picked"? It's literally a visual representation of the numbers of Muslims who believe certain things. Is it only "cherry picked" because there are some "good" beliefs that many Muslims have, as noted in the report, but those beliefs weren't put in the chart? Well....so what? Having some "good" belief and believing "Sharia should rule" is not mutually exclusive. You can believe both. The fact is, 1/3 of all Muslims believe Sharia law should be the law of the land. This is an extreme and mainstream belief; not some fringe, "a few Muslims do no represent all of Islam" belief. Hence why a reformation is needed.
