Whilst I agree with you, that would kill the machine quite quickly. The Neo and Scorpio will be out by holiday 2017 and probably packing way more power compared to NX. Not to mention all the heavy hitter AAA third party titles(COD, Battlefield, Fifa, etc) that come out during that time. And all the disgruntled Nintendo owners who have not only been waiting for the NX, but have had to deal with an almost 2 year drought for the Wii U(by then).

the fact that it's already missing the holiday season is not helping. IMHO Ninty needs to stop worrying about the other two cause they both already soundly lapped them twice in this race. The other two didnt have to make a whole new console mid gen.
