You forgot to mention when the "leaders" see Doomsday, they dont even know what it is or what he is doing, but they want to nuke it right away... I mean, thats the american way, but it seems silly, plus, the president says "no" at first, because its a large city and blah blah, but then 2 mins after he say yes...
