It's basically just a knock on effect of the global recession from 2008. If the boom continued this wouldn't have happened.
Half of the UK didn't have the guts and the toughness to hang in there while the European and UK economy slowely recovered.
Instead they have a knee jerk reaction that will not aide the recovery anytime soon. I expect mass rioting in about 5 years max when things have gotten worse for the working class and better for the elite.
The best thing about this was those voting out because of immigrants. Most of them wanted less Africans, less Asians like Indians and Pakistanis and less muslims.
Yet they vote out of the EU where most of the immigrants from there have a much closer culture to the UK and will integrate much better over time.
The logic. is the country full of Roy hogesons or what?
