...but its not in man's nature... most people need something to believe in that strokes their ego

whether that be being god's chosen people... or thinking you are more intelligent because you don't think a god exists

For now. Eventually humanity will evolve past this level of thinking. 

Religon for example will likely most/all of its hold when humanity conquers death through technology ... that won't happen for our generation, but 200, 300, 400 years into the future? Who knows. Look how much we have advanced in the last 150 years alone (airplanes, cars, computer chips, internet, space travel, cloning, nuclear power, our understanding of physics and the universe, etc. etc.). 

The main reason religon persists is because we still can't answer what happens after death and it's very difficult for humans to comprehend that.
