I have no problem with Military members who happen to be gay...my only issue is with those who are gay and happen to be soldiers. The distinction being I don't view sexual preference as the sort of character defining trait that require it to be part of your title. You don't hear people saying "I'm a straight fighter pilot." so why should we have "Gay Fighter Pilots"? Why can't we just have fighter pilots?

If you join the military to do your duty then you are a patriot no matter what your sexual preference. The only issue I have is with the folks who try to make it an issue..whether they are the gay person flaunting it or the homophobe freaking out about it. It just has nothing to do with fighting for your country in my mind.
