While I agree with you that 5 mill seems optimistic, I'd be quite surprised if Persona 5 doesn't hit 3 mill.

It seems like the franchise is in growth.

Persona (PS + PSP): 0.67 mill
Persona 2 (PS + PSP): 0.7 mill
Persona 3 (PS2 + PSP): 1.91 mill
Persona 4 (PS2 + Vita): 2.16 mill

Tbf p3 and p4 have a remaster combined with the original. Its like saying zelda sold 10mil because OoT had 7.5mil and 3ds version sold over 4mil. 

 

I wouldnt combine those. P5 is fine to combine cuz its released same time and is basically the exact same game
