It wouldn't be very hard if both of those HD platforms were very similar. Third parties have little trouble putting out software on both ps4 and x1. x360 and ps3 got many of the same games too from the same developers/publishers despite the differences between the two.

And yet third parties aren't Nintendo as was mentioned in the post you referenced.  And, third parties haven't exactly been on board with Nintendo consoles recently, just their handheld.  So if the libraries are separate, that probably won't change.
