Nintendos games are usually more difficult than your average M rated game. Don't let the cartoony look fool you.

That used to be true back in the 80s and 90s.  Not so much today.

And Mario Maker doesn't count.

Well, SM3DW final levels are really challenging. DK:Tropical Freeze might be one of the most challenging (if not the most) platformer this gen. Pikmin 3 final leveI. XCX. Fire Emblem games. Exclusives like Bayonetta 1/2, SMTIV... I honestly think that Nintendo provides more challenging experiences than the average of the industry. A lot of them play themselves. They're not the most hardest experiences ever, but they definitely provide some challenge for those who seek it. And that's a good thing, games which can be enjoyed by everyone. I like that focus and I hope they keep the same one in the future regarding challenge.

About the age, I think that Nintendo should focus on regaining a teen fanbase again. I'm almost sure that the demography of people playing Nintendo consoles are older than some people might think. I still remember when I was attending a Ninty event, and I was probably one of the youngest people in the room. I was 24 XD.
