Well, SM3DW final levels are really challenging. DK:Tropical Freeze might be one of the most challenging (if not the most) platformer this gen. Pikmin 3 final leveI. XCX. Fire Emblem games. Exclusives like Bayonetta 1/2, SMTIV... I honestly think that Nintendo provides more challenging experiences than the average of the industry. A lot of them play themselves. They're not the most hardest experiences ever, but they definitely provide some challenge for those who seek it. And that's a good thing, games which can be enjoyed by everyone. I like that focus and I hope they keep the same one in the future regarding challenge.
About the age, I think that Nintendo should focus on regaining a teen fanbase again. I'm almost sure that the demography of people playing Nintendo consoles are older than some people might think. I still remember when I was attending a Ninty event, and I was probably one of the youngest people in the room. I was 24 XD.
