I agree with a lot that's been said here. This guy isn't out to help children. He's out to get clicks and hits and fame. Already, entrapment is illegal. You can't pretend to be someone and initiate conversation trying to get someone to propose something that would be illegal (like having sex, etc.).

Secondly, everyone is entitled to have a defense, and the law still applies the rule "innocent until proven guilty". While a person has not yet been sentenced for a crime (and even if/after they are), you can't start slandering people by giving out their info and putting it everywhere online, claiming that that person is a pedophile or whatever. It's not up to people to play justice warriors, but the law.

I don't know much more than what's been presented here. Maybe the guy suffers from Hero syndrome. Maybe he's an egomaniac. Or maybe he truly believes what he's doing is "right". Whatever it is, he needs to stop. I think he needs to lose the lawsuit in order for him to stop, so I certainly won't be contributing to his defense. I've already read so many stories of waiters going online to publicly shame customers who didn't leave what they consider to be an appropriate tip.

Public shaming of people you consider have done wrong needs to stop.

oh come off it, get over yourself and do some research before blah blah blah-ing

it is a FACT that Anxiety War (the user involved in this case) gets NO money from his Youtube channel or his website. he has no monetization active and never has. Its also a fact that he has had a number of offers from both fans and TV shows to give him money and possibly to even attempt a TV show starring him, but all have been declined by him.

I think on the surface if you didn't look at all the obvious gut thing is "omg another Youtuber trying a ploy to get popular!". but someone who has a full time career (which Anxiety War does) who refuses money and fame boosting things is clearly somewhat genuine

Do you really think he aims to gain nothing from his public youtube channel? I mean... you even know the persons bio and background as a random person on the internet, that alone shows that he has achieved fame to some degree from what he is doing, even down to you having watched and sharing information about videos he made to show how good a person he is in not accepting monetization or hollywood money (whatever that comes down to, could technically be an advertising spot for youtube).

At the end of the day breaking the law is breaking the law, it doesn't matter how good his intentions might have been (lord knows youtube is not the way to do this work if he wanted to do this even remotely correctly) but yeah breaking law is breaking the law, there is no grey area on that from how little monetization he gets from videos of him breaking the law, in doing what he is doing not only is he risking his own life but if he was to meet up with someone who was armed he could well have pulled a completely harmless person with stupid fantasies out onto the streets, to a public area, where when it all blows up and he reveals how super smart he is, people could get shot and killed.
