This is expected. One, there are over one billion smartphones and tablets. Two, the handheld market is super small. Vita is a failure while the 3DS has a mediocre 60 million. And three, Nintendo is aiming to launch a new handheld soon. Sales are expected to decline.
Besides, don't compare it to the ds. We'll never get numbers like that ever again

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.
