I guarantee you that the moment the Wii U is officially discontinued, prices will start to rise on third-party markets like Amazon or eBay.
But while the console is still available on store shelves, it's going to stay at its current MSRP. That's what others were alluding to.
Nintendo inventory seems to be highly collectable. Over time, Wii U products will definitely command a high profit margin. I believe the collectability of Nintendo products is what will keep sell-through consistent until games have run out of inventory on store shelves.
If anyone wants a good investment, you should pick up Tokyo Mirage #FE which releases in the West in 4 days and keep it in the plastic. That quirky little Atlus title will command a significant premium five years from now.
