For some reason, I actually think it would have done very well for the Wii U if it had released last year. Just anecdotally, I've seen countless tweets, comments, posts, etc, of people saying something along the lines of "wow, the new Zelda looks amazing! Now I have to buy a Wii U!" Or, "why didn't I buy a Wii U sooner? The new Zelda looks incredible!" I presume the people saying these things don't realize that BotW is also releasing on NX. Who knows, maybe this means nothing, but I do kinda think there would have been a spike in Wii U sales if BotW released last year.
