I actually did this, i upgraded my PC back in 2010 and switched back to PC for most of the multi platform games(anything that didn't have local multiplayer basically). In my view last gen simply lasted way to long.
Combine this with less powerfull consoles this generation and less or atleast longer development time for exclusives and look what happens. We went from a PC platform that some considered near death at the beginning of last gen to a complete resurgence now with MS seemingly jumping ship and moving towards PC aswell.
