| Tmfwang said: Now, most of you probably remember when the rumours about an upgraded PS4 started circulating, and Phil Spencer took the word quite fast that he did not support mid-gen upgrades because it splits the focus of the developers/consumers...
Then MS had their E3, good ol Phil came out on stage and announced the Xbox Scorpio, and he couldnt be more excited.... This just seems so hypocritical to me, first he downplays the rumors of a mid-gen upgraded PS4, then he proceeds to do the same thing with the Xbox. My respect for him was severly injured when he did this, thoughts? |
I see what you mean, but it's not Xbox 1.5, it more of a typical 4 year new consol jump.
I see why they are doing it, to give customers that want a more powerful consol and willing to pay for it. Plus it helps developers as consoles are harder to hack thus more people actually buy their games, and they get to show off their hard work on something other than a PC.
Plus the games are backwards and forwards compatable. Well at least until we go to DirectX 13, which might be years away at this point. DirectX 12 still has a very long way to go. (The Xbox 360 was only DX 9c, and look how good games look at the end of the gen.)
