I wouldn't call Duscae graphics a sacrifice as it will be the most beautiful JRPG to date lol. I really like the art directions overall too, I just regret some design decisions including the ship looking way too "pacific rim" for my tastes (at least compared to classic japanese mecha design).

The scale of the world and more importantly (especially compared to games with bigger open maps) the variety in environments might make it one of the most beautiful and complete universe in 3D video game history, combined with SE's expertise in story telling.

Episode Duscae has its share of graphical shortcomings. AA comes to mind. Also framerate issues. But it was beautiful indeed. I would be surprised to see some of that in the final build as well. Agreed on the rest.
