I'm really getting annoyed at people calling this a "PT rip off" or claiming that it's not Resident Evil. Resident Evil has constantly evolved over the years. Especially the numbered titles which have always been rather experimental. The Revelation games play it save appeal to the fans, mixing the old with the new. The Resident Evil 2 remake will appeal to the classic fans. Umbrella corps will appeal to the fans that likes mercs and the multiplayer aspects of the game. Capcom is offering something for everyone, expanding the horizons of the series. I've been saying it for years. Resident Evil 7 would be a reimagine of the Resident Evil brand and do for the series what RE4 did. Looks like I was right.
Resident Evil VII is indeed a new take, and it IS Resident Evil. It brought back some old memories and I'm having a blast. For those who don't know me. I'm an incredibly hardcore Resident Evil fan and I am more than pleased with what I played.
For the record. The game was in development since 2012. The game likely under went through multiple builds. It was playable as "Project Kitchen" last year at E3, and the game lines up with rumors that game out from a Japanese media firm in 2014. Resident EVII is anything BUT a PT rip off. It's simply a coincidence that both Capcom and Konami had the same idea. Nothing more, and nothing less.
