It's not going anywhere, everyone loves to be the contrarian once something grows too popular (I've noticed a lot of people who "hate" blizzard, which I really don't see how that's popular haha). That said, I'm one of those early people who played the heck out of CoD 2-4 when the multiplayer was some of the best available, so I have fond memories. It just got old in my opinion, and Battlefield (something I enjoyed on the PC for years prior) offered more... and then they released two poor titles in a row lol The franchise hate is a bit silly, but there's no avoiding that both franchises were growing stale. I'm happy to see that said criticism has prompted them to mix things up this time around, much like Titanfall 2 having something of a single player experience. While it's often rooted in simply being a contrarian who "knows better" than the masses, the criticism is valid to a degree and it does often benefit everyone. |
Well yeah, sometimes hate and heavy criticism is forcing something to improve. The variation in Infinite Warfare is certainly an example of this.
