It's been a while since you've had some news about the new design but finally I'm at a stage where I can show it to you guys. The work is not finished by a long shot because I'll be entering the stage where I need to convert every page on this site to use the new template but at least the template and new homepage are done.
So for Supporters, you'll get to experience the site in your browser, with your info, notification, buddy, mobile version, etc at this address: http://www.vgchartz.com/dev2016 but I didn't want to leave regular completely in the dark so here are three screenshots of the homepage in desktop version and mobile version.
Now let's talk about new features! First and foremost, the site is fully responsive so you can play around with your browser width and the site will adapt automatically to it. You can also check out the link on your phone and you'll get the mobile display.
The top menu is slimmer and sticks to the top of the screen as you navigate, giving you access to it at all times, even when you're at the bottom of a page. Also the VGC and gamrConnect menus have been fused into one to remove the need for different navigation on both sections of the site.
The buddy has been reworked to be present in the top menu but in case you still prefer having it on the side, it is detachable and you can position it however you like. There's also an option to make it narrower if you don't have enough space on either side of your screen to place the large version. You'll also notice that in addition to your latest topics, there's also your notifications and your messages accessible from the buddy. There will also be an option for personnal stickied threads but it's not developped yet.
The social media icons and the search bar are toggled by clicking their respective buttons.
