There were also multiple reports that said Ryse 2 was cancelled because of a conflict between MS and Crytek, MS was willing to fund Ryse 2 but only in exchange for rights to the Ryse IP supposedly, and Crytek didn't want to sell the IP. Since then Crytek nearly went bankrupt and reorganized into a F2P developer, so it's kind of unlikely that they'd make a AAA game for MS nowadays. Right now they're developing 2 new F2P games (Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age and Arena of Fate) and a VR game (Robinson: The Journey), so they're likely to busy to be developing Ryse 2. Only chance of Ryse 2 is if they did sell the IP to MS eventually and MS found another developer. |
If they won't use it they might as well sell it and MS can finally have 343 be known for something that is NOT Halo!
