I saw it last night and I have never seen anything. A book, game, or comic book adaptation remain so faithful to it's source material. Sure, there are some changes... but all the little things really shined. Elywnn Forest, Deadwind Pass, Dalaran, Stormwind, Iron Forge. I recognised all off these places by the details. Karazhan... OMG!! I cannot believe how accurate the way the movie displayed it's locations was. So much detail. The flight path from Stormwind? LMAO
I played WoW Up until 2010 and I enjoyed the movie from a fan perspective. The film side of me is mixed. I thought the second half was great where the first half was a little lacking. Over all, I had a lot of fun with the movie and my theatre was damn near full. This was the 10:30pm showing which is normally has less viewers than the others. The crowd was cheering and some of the boo'd because they stayed until after the credits and wanted more. This series has a HUGE potential in future films, and I'd love to see the directors cut.
We have 6 MAJOR theaters in our city, and a few dozen smaller ones. At least 4-5 of those big theaters had 3-4 auditoriums playing War craft all Day, Each of the big theaters are doing 9 showings (the least) to 14 showings (most) per day this weekend. So yes. The movie is doing very well here.
