I think it's important to realize that MS has completely devalued the Xbox One with constant price slashes and deals. Short of selling it for $249 or $199, I don't really see what they could do to improve sales, and that would only be a temporary solution, at the cost of slashing revenue per console sale and likely even losing money on each sale. Xbox One had that """""official""""" price drop just recently to $299 and it did jack shit.
And I know this is NPD, but outside of US+UK, Xbox really has no appeal, so if the situation is this bad in US, it is disastrous WW.
It's no surprise that many insiders, and even that recent Kotaku UK article, show that Xbox is a complete disaster this gen for MS, and I don't think that can be overstated enough.
