Maybe comparing Halo 3 at its prime would be unfair, but Xbox One isn't doing so hot in the US and Halo 5 suffered a ~70% sales decrease over its predecessors, so I believe it's a fair comparison.
Honestly, one could even make a comparison and say that PS4 and Xbox 360 are both performing very well in the US, and make a comparison between each console's respective biggest exclusive (Halo 3, 4, or Reach and Uncharted 4). Xbox 360's biggest exclusives each outsold PS4's biggest exclusive 3:1 with significantly less days of tracking. But that would be a low blow.
