It's more to do with the game's Ghibli inspiration even the first teaser trailer for the game was a match for the intro for Princess Mononoke where the main character is chased by Boar demon that moves in a similar manner to the monster that chases, this is Ashitaka:

AC may have inspired the type of design for the hood but blow for blow the new Link is Ashitaka in design, both characters even have a affinity for archery and even the attire is heavily similar.

Something about Ghibli's influence just makes me hyped to play this game. Ghibli and Nintendo? I'm in heaven.
