Well there were civilizations that clearly were around to become collateral damage in the war judging from all the ruins you find down there :P .  Unless I'm missing a key piece of information.  So my thought was you would be following the attempts of this "hero" to prevent the whole thing from going down which it obviously does not get stopped.  But I digress.

And no, you can't end the cycle but in all accept WW the actual game doesn't end with the world in very literal ruin and everyone fleeing or being sent away to be refugees.   Just saying that it would be more extreme than the norm.

However, I will point out that the massive enemy that chased Aonuma in the original unveiling boor a very striking resemblence to the tech found in Lanaryu.  Like, extremely similar.  So I wouldn't be surprised if it was tied closer to SS for that reason.  I don't know that the WW line can happen because doesn't Ganondorf say something to the effect of his use of the Triforce to force the goddesses to act for him would end that which bound him, Zelda, and Link?  In which case, the cycle *is* broken in that timeline and Hyrule is gone for good.  Unless I missunderstood what he said.

The civilization are the people in the Sky they were already safe when the battle was happening this is explained in the tribal painting intro, you also didn't read my post properly WW's era is the ruins of Hyrule the land got flooded and destroyed in order to stop Ganon as the incarnation for the timeline was sent into another timeline at the end of OOT, this is why WW's Link had to become the Hero as the incarnation was no longer present, what you're saying should happen in an ending has already happened in an entire timeline.

You misunderstood what was said in WW, he essentially is saying he is no longer the incarnation of Demise, the cycle continues only with out him this is also referenced in TP when the Tri-force of power leaves him after his defeat it's essentially where his reign as the incarnation of Demise ends, Demise, Hylia and the Hero bound in this endless conflict.
