It was $100 but the tech support girl I was talking too was really cool and got me a discount, it would of been even cheaper then $93 but I asked for the faster shipping which costs $17 and will take me 1 week to get back to me vs $10 shipping and 2-3 weeks.

It's a shame they don't open up a couple repair centers in the states/europe etc to make shipping cheaper for the consumer... it seems rather unreasonable to punish the owner of the console for built-in-faults. In fact, I feel like I remember them having repair centers here at one time.

I'm not sure what the line is in regards to price for me, but since I'm 99% sure I know what the problem is and that it's a problem that would normally cost a few dollars to fix, I can't bring myself to ship it to Japan lol

So damn frustrating... I know there's warranty reasons for doing it but I miss the days when hardware shipped with simple screws and such so that you could repair it yourself. Virtually everything was designed with repair in mind at one time, and now everything is designed to make it impossible for the consumer to deal with it themselves.

Look at the Nintendo repair site and find the number, I'm pretty sure you won't need to send it to Japan.
